Detail of the elbow joint on the wings.  The double acting cylinder is mounted and retracts and extends the wings quickly without the needle valves.  I believe that it's a 2" stroke.  The aluminum is 1/8" angle that has had one leg milled down to 1/16" tall for rigidity.  Flat aluminum deflected badly.
