The molds in all their glory.  Still missing from the pics ate the button mold, hook mold, and spool mold.  You'll see them soon.

Another view of the molds, which I used too much silicone on, but they work and they're mine, all mine!

The inside of the barrel mold.  It turns out I was blowing it out of proportion, it was easy to make after all.  You shouldn't think things through too much sometimes

One half of the mold with the silicone popped out.  Yes, the silicone is VERY thick.

The other half of the mold with the silicone removed.  You're looking at the back of the mold that fits onto the post in the fiberglass.

The first attempted casting of the barrel, had a big damn airbubble trapped in there.  I think it happened because I underestimated how much resin it would take to fill it.  Oh well, I'll do better next time.

The casting removed and vent sprues trimmed off of it.

The hook in place inside the barrel.  I'm going to redo the hook I think, I want to make it even this time.

The gun without any sanding or patching, it's also not screwed together yet.

What you'll see looking into it, just imagine a little spool of line in the back.

Not a true side view, but close.  Not too bad.

Another view showing that it needs sanded and patched.

The first batch of body castings.  No pics of hook or spool yet.

Another shot of the castings.

So, now I just have to cast one up without bubbles, go pick up the screws, the material for the inner barrel and cast up the hooks.  I'm working on the material estimates for the molds, at least the way I made them.  Not sure how much wood I used to make the masters, so that'll have to be skipped.  I'll get some new pages made up and online soon, which is when all these will disappear.

That's it for now, going to go work on a casting.
